Get to the Root of It.

If you’ve been told your labs are normal but you still don’t feel well, functional medicine asks the question conventional care too often skips: why? At Wible Wellness, we go deeper — looking at the full picture to build a care plan that’s truly yours.

Prioritize Your Wellness Today

What Is Functional Medicine?

My practice is a little different from traditional medicine. Instead of asking ‘what drug matches this diagnosis?’ — a pill for every ill — I ask: why is this happening in the first place? I look at root causes, patterns, and connections that often get missed in the standard 10–15 minute visit model.

Because of that, appointments at Wible Wellness run much longer — typically 1–2 hours — and I spend significant time outside of visits reviewing your history, analyzing labs in depth, and building a truly personalized plan. You’re not getting a template. You’re getting something designed specifically for your body and your goals.

I don’t take insurance, and that’s intentional. Insurance companies dictate what providers can and can’t do, how long we can spend with you, and what we’re allowed to test or treat. That model is built around managing disease after it develops — not optimizing your health or preventing problems. Working together outside of insurance gives us the freedom to dig deeper, connect the dots, and use advanced or specialized testing when it’s appropriate.

The goal is real answers, a clear plan, and measurable progress — so you actually understand your body and feel in control of your health.

The Clinical Definition

Functional medicine is a personalized, science-based approach that focuses on identifying and treating the root cause of disease rather than just managing symptoms. It views the body as an interconnected system — where imbalances in one area affect overall health — and uses comprehensive data including labs, genetics, medical history, lifestyle, and environment to create a tailored treatment plan.

Functional medicine recognizes that one condition can have multiple causes, and one root issue can lead to many different symptoms. By addressing these underlying imbalances, the goal is to improve energy, hormone balance, gut health, and overall wellness — while helping prevent and, in many cases, reverse chronic disease.

What We Address

Common areas we work with include:

  •   Chronic fatigue and low energy
  •   Thyroid dysfunction and optimization
  •   Hormonal imbalance and adrenal dysregulation
  •   Digestive health — bloating, IBS, gut dysbiosis
  •   Blood sugar regulation and insulin resistance
  •   Chronic inflammation and immune concerns
  •   Anxiety, mood changes, and sleep disruption
  •   Weight management resistant to conventional approaches

Not sure if your concern fits? Reach out — we’re happy to talk through whether this is the right next step for you.

Who Is a Good Fit?

Functional medicine is for anyone who’s been chasing answers without getting them. You may be a good fit if you:

  •   Feel persistently fatigued, foggy, or unwell — despite normal labs
  •   Struggle with unexplained weight changes, digestive issues, or disrupted sleep
  •   Have a diagnosed condition and want a more thorough, root-cause approach
  •   Experience hormonal symptoms, mood shifts, or recurring issues that haven’t been fully explained
  •   Want a provider who takes time to listen and treats you as a whole person — not a checklist

Who May Not Be a Good Fit

Functional medicine is a powerful approach — but it’s not right for everyone. You may not be a good fit if you:

  •   Want a quick fix or immediate symptom relief rather than long-term healing
  •   Prefer a ‘pill for every ill’ approach to health
  •   Are not ready to make meaningful lifestyle changes (nutrition, sleep, stress, movement)
  •   Prefer a passive approach rather than being actively involved in your care
  •   Are unable or unwilling to invest in a personalized, longer-term health journey
  •   Need urgent or emergency medical care — functional medicine is not a replacement for acute care
  •   Expect instant results (though many patients begin noticing improvements within the first month)

Your Patient Journey

Here’s what working together typically looks like — from your very first contact through long-term maintenance:

A complimentary screening call (15 minutes)

Before scheduling a first appointment, a brief phone call may be recommended to make sure we're a good fit for each other. This is at no cost to you and takes about 15 minutes.

Intake preparation

Prior to your first appointment, you'll complete all intake paperwork and send any relevant previous medical records and lab work. We ask that paperwork be completed at least two days in advance — this gives us time to review your case thoroughly before we meet.

First appointment (60–90 minutes)

This is a deep dive. We'll go through your paperwork together, and I'll share my initial impressions and early recommendations. Advanced lab testing will likely be ordered at this visit.

Lab review and plan formulation

Before your next appointment, I'll spend time reviewing your new lab results alongside your previous labs and full history to build a comprehensive picture of your health. Think of it as putting together pieces of a puzzle — connections that often get missed when individual results are read in isolation.

Your results appointment — the exciting one

This is where you get real answers, not 'your labs look normal.' We'll walk through your results in detail, review your personalized treatment plan, and make sure you leave with a genuine understanding of your body — and the tools to support it long-term.

Intensive care phase (2–4 appointments)

Over the next several appointments, we identify root causes, implement interventions, and establish your personalized protocol.

Autopilot — long-term maintenance

Once you're stable and thriving, we transition to shorter, less frequent check-ins to maintain optimal health and make adjustments as needed. At this stage, you can also return to routine primary care through your insurance for standard physicals, acute care, and vaccinations — now with a much deeper understanding of your own health.

This is about transformation, not dependency. Quality over quantity. Deep healing over surface-level management.

A Note on Investment & Cost

Functional medicine operates on a cash-pay model, and some advanced lab testing does require a higher upfront investment. This approach is designed to identify and address root causes early, reduce long-term reliance on medications, minimize the need for multiple specialist visits, and help prevent the progression of chronic conditions.

Many patients find that investing upfront in a thorough, root-cause approach saves significant time, money, and frustration in the long run — while meaningfully improving quality of life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Functional medicine is a personalized, root-cause approach that treats you as a whole person — not just a collection of symptoms. While traditional medicine excels at managing acute illness and emergencies, functional medicine focuses on understanding why you’re experiencing health issues in the first place.

Rather than prescribing medication to manage symptoms, functional medicine takes a deep dive into your biology, lifestyle, environment, and health history to identify and address the underlying imbalances. It’s about finding answers — not temporary relief.

Traditional Medicine:

  •   Focuses on diagnosing disease and managing symptoms
  •   Typically 15-minute appointments
  •   Relies primarily on pharmaceutical intervention
  •   Standardized protocols for similar diagnoses

Functional Medicine:

  •   Investigates the root cause of your health concerns
  •   Extended appointments (60–90 minutes) for comprehensive assessment
  •   Considers genetics, lifestyle, diet, stress, sleep, environment, and more
  •   Personalized treatment plans unique to your body and situation
  •   Emphasis on prevention and long-term wellness

Functional medicine recognizes that one diagnosis can have many different causes — and one underlying cause can lead to many different diagnoses. Rather than asking ‘What disease do you have and what drug treats it?’, we ask ‘Why do you have this problem, and what can we do to restore proper function?’

Visits are available on a self-pay basis with upfront pricing. Some lab costs may be partially covered depending on your plan — we’ll walk through what’s available during your visit. The cash-pay model also gives us the freedom to order testing and pursue treatments that insurance wouldn’t otherwise approve.

Yes — this is one of the most common reasons people come to us. Standard lab ranges are designed to catch disease, not optimize health. Functional medicine looks at trends, patterns, and the relationship between values to give you a more complete picture.

Not at all — functional medicine complements, not replaces, traditional primary care. Many patients continue with routine primary care visits through their insurance provider for annual physicals, acute illness, vaccinations, and stable prescription refills. You’ll simply be approaching those visits with a deeper understanding of your health and the tools to maintain it.

Yes — telehealth is our primary method of care. All services at Wible Wellness are conducted via telehealth, available for patients in Colorado, Illinois, and Oregon. This means you get comprehensive, in-depth care from the comfort of your own home — no commute, no waiting room.

Ready to Take Control of Your Health?

If you’re tired of feeling dismissed, frustrated by symptom management that doesn’t address the real problem, or simply ready to feel like yourself again — functional medicine may be the answer you’ve been looking for. Let’s work together to uncover the root causes and create a personalized plan for lasting wellness.
